We are looking for someone who is passionate about worship and empowering others to experience God in the context of worship to fill the following position:
Position Title: Worship and Music Coordinator (WMC)
Employment Status: Part-Time (approx. 15-20 hours)
Salary: Negotiable based on experience
FLSA: Non-exempt

The Worship and Music Coordinator (WMC) directs plans, evaluates and promotes worship in the life of the church to enable the congregation to experience God through music, drama, prayer, graphics, and video, etc.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinate a comprehensive worship and music ministry for traditional/blended and contemporary settings while attending to the spiritual needs of the worship team participants and the congregation
Participate in the recruiting, auditioning and selection of vocalists, choir and band members as well as sound, light, and media volunteers
Prepare for and direct rehearsals in collaboration with the Media Specialist, musicians, and vocalists
Coordinate music for weddings, funerals and special events
Assist in the purchase and maintenance of music, sound equipment, worship videos and software required for the preparation and execution of worship in collaboration with the Media Specialist
Stay informed of current worship and music methods, material and ideas through the attendance of music clinics, workshops and conferences as provided by Highland Hope
Collaborate with the leaders of Children, Youth and Student Ministries to provide opportunities for participation in a variety of worship experiences
Other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications
Education: Prefer Associates Degree
A Committed Professing Christian
Solid character and integrity
Must possess leadership, team building, and people skills
Play lead guitar and/or keyboard with proficiency
Strong vocal skills are required
Ability to lead worship in both a traditional/blended and a contemporary context
Good organization and time management skills, reliable, punctual
Prefer technical skills to utilize resources including computer systems, worship software, sound and light boards, etc.
Preferred Foundation: experience leading worship for at least 1 year
Must be able to lift 50 pounds
Must pass criminal background check and drug-screening test
The WMC will collaborate to prepare regular and seasonal worship services
The WMC will evaluate the progress of the total church worship and music ministry quarterly and set goals and objectives for improvement annually in collaboration with Pastor and the Worship and Design Team
The WMC will attend Staff meetings
The WMC will attend Church Council Meetings quarterly or when requested to provide information about worship, music opportunities, and needs
The WMC communicates with the Finance Secretary to maintain an accurate account of finances and the budget related to the worship and music ministries of the church
Work Environment: Mainly performed indoors in a controlled environment. Off campus opportunities for outreach may occur. Keep work area clean and organized. Appropriate dress required for church environment.
Working Relationship
This position is under the general supervision of the Directing Pastor with a liaison from the Staff Parish Relations Committee (SPRC)
Compensation is recommended by the SPRC, and is approved by the Administrative Council
SPRC evaluation of this position will occur after 3 months, 6 months, and annually thereafter
This position is employed "at will" and not by contract. Employment "at will" means the employee and HHUMC are free to terminate employment at any time without notice or reason
EEOC: The Worship & Music Coordinator is a Fair Labor and Standards Act non-exempt position with no benefits, retirement, or healthcare coverage. The WMC will be paid bi-weekly (every two weeks).

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
